Located at 42 Central Park South,
NYC, Mickey Mantle's Restaurant opened
in 1988. Inside, the decor of sports
memorabilia and art made Mantle's one
of the more popular sports bars in the
city. Before checking into the Betty
Ford Clinic in 1994, the year before
the slugger passed away, Mantle was
often spotted schmoozing and sharing a
cocktail with fans inside his namesake
restaurant. The restaurant grossing
$3.9 million its first year, closed in
2012, due to increasing food prices,
shifting city regulations and landlord
interference.
The cover of the paper flyer Take Out Menu, features a black & white
picture of Mickey Mantle most likely
taken by renown sports photographer
Louis Requena. Below the picture is the
Mickey Mantle's Restaurant logo
featuring Mantle's facsimile autograph
below the Yankee Stadium Facade, and
"Take Out Menu" at the bottom. Inside the menu
features the usual Appetizers, side
dishes, main courses, and "Mickey's Specialties."
Mantle's favorite dish on the menu, as
befitting an Oklahoma boy, was
chicken-fried steak. Basically the same
dishes featured on the
dinner menu in
the restaurant.
The Little League menu (children
portions), and Beverages are on the
back page. At the bottom is a section
on delivery policies which reads; "We
