Rawlings - A sports equipment
manufacturing company was founded in
1887.
A Pioneer in the baseball glove industry Rawlings introduced innovative
designs that included the Bill Doak
Model (1919), Deep Well Pocket (1930),
Trapper (1940), and V-Anchored Web
(1950). In 1977, Rawlings was awarded
the contract to produce the official
baseballs for Major League baseball.
The Rawlings company was acquired by
Seidler Equity Partners and MLB
Properties from Newell Brands in June
2018 for $395 million.
