This
milk bottle is from the Rutland Hills
Co-Op Cooperative Inc. Dairy Farm that
once was operated and located in
historic Watertown, New York in
Jefferson County NY. The front of the
bottle features orange enameled
lettering (pyro) with an illustration
of a cow's head and reads;, "Direct
From Farm To You Farmer Owned Rutland
Hills Co-Op Inc. Watertown NY". The
back illustrates a baseball player
swinging a bat and reads; "A Bottle Of
Milk Is A Bottle Of Health"
The Rutland Hills milk bottles with the baseball player come in three size
bottles; PHP - Pyroglazed Half pint,
TSPP - Tall Square Pyroglazed pint, and
TSPQ - Tall Square Pyroglazed Quart.
Pyro is short for Pyroglaze - colored
enameled lettering. Pyros are usually
soda bottles or milk bottles made after
the 1930s.
