These Major League Team Pennants were
given away free in specially marked
boxes of post cereal. The back of the
boxes featured the 1963 Post Cereal
baseball cards, and when you went
digging through the box you found a cloth mini
pennant! As advertised on the box there
were "One of 19 different team pennants
in each" post cereal package. The
Pennants were also made available in
packages of 10, for the retail price of
.49 cents. One package all American
League pennants and the other all
National.
The pennants are made of sturdy cotton
with a strong adhesive backing. They
measure about 1.75" along the spine and
about 3.5" across, and have a peel away
adhesive back with
instructions that reads; "1.
Bend back corner. 2. Peel off paper. 3.
Attach to any clean, dry surface
-including cloth-ing. 4. Pennant can be
re-applied several times. CAUTION ! Do
not laun-der or dry-clean."
The back of the Cereal box has four
1963 Post baseball cards to be hand cut
from the box. A Boston Red Sox Pennant
is pictures and below it reads;
"Collect your favorite American League
team pennants. Stick them on clothing,
hats, books, mirrors, etc. Pennants can
be removed when laundering clothing and
reapplied 10 to 20 times." It then

The
Colt .45s were omitted from the
National league team pennants that
included 9 teams, the Braves,
Cardinals, Cubs, Dodgers, Giants, Mets,
Phillies, Pirates, Reds, and a National
League pennant. The 10 American League
Teams included the Angels, Athletics,
Indians, Orioles, Red Sox, Senators,
Tigers, Twins, White Sox, and the
Yankees.
