In 1969 the New York Yankees
issued 4"x 6" picture pack photos
labeled as "Framing Pictures." Picture
packs were sold by Yankee Stadium
vendors, as well as Yankee Stadium
souvenir shops located throughout the
ballpark. Those same photo packs were
also available through the mail issued
directly from Jay Publishing. The Jay
Publishing photos can be identified by
the players name followed by the city,
and team nickname. For example: "MICKEY
MANTLE New York Yankees" The Team Issue
sets as featured here, have the players
name followed by the team nickname. For
Example: "MICKEY MANTLE Yankees" (no
city)
The 1969 packages came with six colored pictures, licensed by MLB, and
MLBPA. The pictures featured in this
package include; Mickey Mantle, Bobby
Murcer, Frank Fernandez, Jake Gibbs,
Joe Pepitone and Mel Stottlemyre. The
hang card has a 1969 MLBPA,(Major
League Baseball Players Association)
and MLBPC (Major League Baseball
Promotions Corporation) copyright.
MLBPC was formed in 1966 as agent for
the Owners. The MLB logo was introduced
in 1969, and was to be placed on all
licensed products there after.
