NOTES:

Organized in June of 1961, Jeff Randell's Mickey Mantle Fan Club grew to 400 members by January 1962. The club located in Forest Hills Queens, N.Y. charged a yearly membership fee of .25¢, to receive an "autographed picture" and a monthly Bulletin. In January 1962 club President Jeff Randall, sent out a Bulletin, announcing that the yearly membership fees would be raised to $1.00, and for members to enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope each month.

The February 1962 issue of Sport magazine, with Roger Maris on the cover, features the "Sport Talk Fan Club Notes" mentioned in Jeff Randall's bulletin, on page 16. The envelope in which the letter came in was post marked January 9, 1962, cancelled at the Flushing N.Y. Post Office. A 5 inch by 7 inch photo of Mickey Mantle featuring a facsimile autograph with the salutation "Best Wishes" was also inserted into the envelope. This was the same picture used for the 1959 Jay Publishing All-Stars issue.
