In a 1934 Quaker Oats promotion
Babe Ruth states; “Hey Kids! Join my
baseball club - And win one of these
swell PRIZES! Just mail your name and
address with one Quaker Puffed Wheat or
Rice Box Top to Babe Ruth’s Baseball
Club P.O. BOX 1083- CHICAGO.” From May
1st to July 15, you could win; a free
trip to New York or Chicago (one trip
each week), Free
baseballs (900 baseballs given away
every week) or one of 100 Babe Ruth
Fielders gloves given away weekly.
When you joined by sending in the box top, you
also received a Babe Ruth club
membership badge for free. The 7/8 inch
pin back pictures Babe Ruth with a
generic baseball cap, sandwiched
between his facsimile signature, with a
baseball design backdrop. Above reads
"Member" at the bottom "Baseball,
Club." Produced by the Parisian
Novelty Co. of Chicago, Illinois, some
will show "Parisian Novelty Co.
Chicago" along the rim, but on most it
is hidden below rim.
