From
June 15, through June 19, 1982 The
Paramus Park Shopping Center held the
Third Annual Sports Expo. Collectors of
Sports memorabilia were given the
opportunity to enjoy a wide array of
displays featuring baseball cards,
photographs, and yearbooks. Special
Celebrity appearances included members
of the Cosmos Soccer Team, and Mickey
Mantle. Appearing on the PicNic
Mezzanine on June 16', Mantles career
highlights was shown and was
interviewed by Sportswriters Vinny
DiTrani and Jack OConnell of The Record
in four separate sessions.
Because of the overwhelming response,
Mantle was not available to sign
autographs. Instead, name were drawn
each hour for 12 autographed baseballs.
Entry forms were made available at all
shop and restaurants in the mall. As
part of the promotion, these Pin-back
buttons along with
8x10 photos were handed out.
