This is a vintage 1915 baseball PM1 Ornate Pin. These pins are one of the most distinctive and popular of all early baseball pin issues. Sometimes referred to as the "fancy border pin set," PM1s are designed with an oval real photo set in an ornately designed mount. A total of approximately 25 different PM1s are known to exist. A Babe Ruth PM1 pin was recently
discovered that was not known to exist before. The back

Pictured below right sold in auction for $4,100. The
Babe Ruth pin pictured below is the only one known to
exist.
It was sold privately. Could only imagine what price it
would have brought in auction. There are no records
of who created these pins.
