This
Wilson 5 Year recognition Service Pin
was awarded to an employee of Lowe &
Campbell, a division of Wilson Sporting
Goods. George
C. Lowe and D. Keedy Campbell started
the Lowe & Campbell Sporting
Goods Company in 1912. In 1931 Lowe &
Campbell merged with the larger
company, Wilson Sporting Goods. These
mergers were common, as large sporting
goods companies such as Wilson,
Rawlings, and Spalding merged with
smaller, local or regional companies to
increase their presence in markets
throughout the country.
The 10K gold recognition pin, features the Wilson Script logo, atop of a
gold number 5 inside a black enamel
shield. The threaded post back was
attached to a blue Lowe & Campbell card
which was inserted into a windowed
envelope with the "Lowe & Campbell
Athletic Goods" logo. Below reads
"Stores in Principal Cities"
