NOTES:

The Portraits & Profiles series of educational display cards were produced by the New York based publisher Barnell Loft. The large 13 1/2" x 19 1/2" heavy cardboard posters were distributed to schools to be displayed in halls, classrooms, and gymnasiums. Each card had a factory made punchhole at each corner, and featured a short biography written by Richard A. Boning, below a 10"x10" illustration by artist Joseph Forte. The cards came in a box set of 8, with different subjects that included: Science Health/Biology, Music - which was divided up into different genres; folk, Jazz, 19th century composers, and a series of physical education posters; Basketball, Football, and featured here Baseball.

"Baseball" was part of the Physical Education series, and was issued in two Sets of eight ballplayers. The copyright line at the bottom of the Set "A" posters reads: '©1970. "Portraits & Profiles" Barnell Loft. Rockville Centre N.Y. 11571' and does not have any indication that it is Set "A." The copyright line at the bottom of the Set "B" posters reads: '©1970. "Portraits & Profiles" - Baseball - Set B - Barnell Loft. Baldwin N.Y. 11510'

The back of the card-poster is blank. The checklist below for the unnumbered cards for both sets are in alphabetical order by the player's last name. The eighth player for set "B" is not known at this time and will be added as soon as the information is available.
