NOTES:

The picture used for this Mickey Mantle giant photo poster was taken by renown sports photographer Louis Requena. The photograph was also used by artist Burton Silverman who was commissioned by Mantle to create artwork for the cover of the menus for Mickey Mantle's Restaurant in NYC, in 1988. The original painting hung there for many years as well. From 1967-1971 Manny's Baseball Land, (Opposite of Yankee Stadium) offered 12 "Giant Life Like Photo Posters which measures 2 x 3 foot high for playrooms, dens, bars etc." (as quoted from the ad below) The actual size is 22 x 34 inches.

The posters were advertised in the Manny's Baseball Land 1967 catalog for $2.50, or three for $6.00. By 1971 the price was raised to $3.00 each, and three for $8.00. The twelve players featured on the giant posters were: Mickey Mantle Babe Ruth Stan Musial Ty Cobb Joe DiMaggio Harmon Killebrew Al Kaline Hank Aaron Joe Pepitone Lou Gehrig Orlando Cepeda Tommy Davis
