NOTES:

In Tribute to Mickey Mantle, NY Walks Central Park was a Walkathon in support of organ and tissue donation, to benefit the National Kidney Foundation, of New York & New Jersey. The walk held on October 29, 1995 in central Park, was led by Mickey Mantles Children - David, Danny, Mickey Jr. and other celebrities. The poster was printed in limited numbers and distributed to area hospitals, unions, organizations and sponsors connected with the benefit. The posters were accompanied with information pamphlets.

The black header of the poster reads "TAKE A WALK NEW YORK" in large gold letters with smaller white lettering below that reads "A WALKATHON IN SUPPORT OF ORGAN AND TISSUE DONATION" The grey left side of the poster has the Walkathon information, place, date and time, inside a pink enclosure, below a circled "NY Walks Central Park" walkingshoe logo. Above the logo, in script reads "A Tribute to Mickey Mantle" The top right side of the poster has the list of recipients of the Benefit's proceeds. Below that features a modified version of The Daily News sports cartoonist, Bill Gallo, 1988 illustration of Mickey Mantle titled "Hall of Fame."

The original Mickey Mantle - "Hall of Fame" illustration,  included in series III,  of Bill Gallo's "A Look Back" Baseball Lithograph Set of 24, featured a small sample of "The Mick, Mickey Mantle" career highlights and "Hall of Fame 1974" it was modified for the poster to read '"Be a hero be a donor" -Mickey Mantle' At the top, the facade remains but the "Yankee Stadium" pennant was removed. At the bottom "A look Back -by" and the 1988 copyright was removed from Bill Gallo's signature.

The very bottom of the poster reads "For Information, Call 1-800-63-Donate" with a list of sponsors below.
