NOTES:

The "Play Ball" 1944 Baseball Guide was published by the Victory publishing Company, after the start of the season. This booklet incorporates many of the changes that took place in the major Leagues after America entered into the war. The inside front cover features the 1943 American League pennant winners and World Champion New York Yankees followed by the National League pennant winning St. Louis Cardinals on page 2. The guide covers 1943 batting, fielding statistics, won loss records and ballpark diagrams at the end. The inside back cover has a Treasury Department message promoting War Bonds.

The "Ideal Gift For Service Men" The .50¢ baseball guide features 16 pin-ups with baseball related captions that loosely accompany each team as follows; 'Box Seat...' -Boston Braves, 'Dem Bums!' -Brooklyn Dodgers, 'Take Me Out To The Ball Game' - Chicago Cubs, 'Double Header' - Cincinnati Reds, 'Hit Dog!...' - New York Giants, 'Squeeze Play' - Philadelphia Phillies, 'Nice Game' - Pittsburgh Pirates,'"Foul' in The Stands' - St. Louis Cardinals, 'Bunt' Boston Red Sox, 'Slide,  Kelly, Slide!' - Chicago White Sox. 'Bleacher Blonde' - Cleveland Indians, 'Standing Room Only' - Detroit Tigers, 'Sitting On Top Of The World' - New York Yankees, 'Fielders Choice' Philadelphia Athletics, '7th Inning S-t-r-e-t-c-h' St. Louis Browns, 'The Raw Of The Crowd' Washington Senators.

The centerfold (pages 22 & 23) are tribute pages listing the "Armed Service Honor Roll." A home front salute to the Major League players serving in defense of our country.
