   This 1958 Los Angeles Dodgers Official Scorecard is from the teams Inaugural season. On April 18, 1958 the Dodgers took the field before 78,672 fans at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, where they will play until 1962 when the team moves into Dodger Stadium. The year before the Dodgers moved from Brooklyn breaking the hearts of Brooklynites forever. The 1958 Dodgers opening series scorecards picture Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on the cover.

 The cover of this program features the portraits of the 1958 Los Angeles Dodgers by renowned artist Nicholas Volpe. Nicholas Volpe (1911 – 1992) was one of America's most distinguished portrait painters. He had a lifetime contract to do the portraits of each year of the actor and actress awarded the Academy of Motion pictures art and sciences "Oscar" for best performances. He won a Grammy for his cover design of Frank Sinatra's record album "Only The Lonely." Through the years Volpe was commissioned by the dodgers to do a number of player portraits including the 1966 Union 76 Oil, Los Angeles Dodger Records.

 "Rooting For Roy - - - - A Familiar face is missing...." Page 9, features a tribute and prayers for Roy Campanella who was recovering form a recent and career ending auto accident near his home in Glen Cove, Long Island.
