NOTES:

Baseball-themed fans were a popular souvenir at the ballpark during the late 19th to early 20th century. Some were produced as advertising premiums given away by various businesses. This dual purpose fan was made by publishers E. Nash and Company, of 80 Nassau Street, New York. There is little information known about E. Nash but for the numerous postcards and fans in the collectors market. Using the postmarks, most can be dated to about 1900 through the 1910's

The front of the die-cut cardboard fan illustrates a runner sliding into a bag by a tagging fielder, against a full web baseball glove backdrop Full web baseball gloves were common to 1900-1910's. The bottom right reads "Copyrighted by E. Nash H 860" The back features a scorecard so you could keep score of the game in between fanning.
