The "Batting And Bunting" With Ethan Allen
booklet was Presented By Your Coca-Cola Bottler,
in 1961. Coca-Cola Bottlers distributed these
booklets to retailers and local Little League baseball
organizations. The booklet was authored by Ethan
Allen who was a coach a Yale University at the
time. Allen was a Major League
outfielder from 1926 to 1938. He played for the;
Cincinnati Reds, New York
Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, and St.
Louis Browns.
Ethan Allen also designed the best
selling baseball board game of all
time, which hit the market in 1941. The
"All Star Baseball game," was
manufactured by Cadaco Inc., revised in 1966; again in 1968 and
1988, and was discontinued in the
mid-1990s due to the loss of market
share to video games and the increased
player licensing costs.
Inside the "Batting and Bunting"
booklet, coach Ethan Allen instructs
you on how to improve your batting.
Accompanied with pictures and
illustrations, subjects include;
choosing and gripping the bat, Stance,
Stride, Bunting, and Bunting
Situations. The front cover illustrates
a player batting & bunting. The back
cover features a Coca-Cola
advertisement. "Coke puts a Zing in
your Swing"
