NOTES:

Lyrics written by Thos. H. Griffith, music by Elmer B. Groffith, the sheet music for "I'll Change Your Shadows To Sunshine" was self published by Thos. H. Griffith New Bedford Mass. New Bedford Theatre. The cover Pictures Tommy Griffith in his baseball uniform, and "The Village Four" a vaudeville quartet that introduced the song on stage.

It was common for Tin Pan Alley to print various copies of the same sheet music featuring different photos of vaudeville singers. There Is another cover of this sheet music that does not picture "The Village Four" and pictures Tommy Griffith in a Cincinnati Reds uniform. Song writer and vaudeville singer, Tommy Griffith was a professional baseball player who played right field for the Boston Braves, Cincinnati Reds, Brooklyn Robins and Chicago Cubs from 1913 to 1925.

During the baseball off-season, Tom sang and performed his songs on the vaudeville circuit with teammate Rabbit Maranville. Some of the hit songs he composed are: "Ireland, Dear Old Ireland." "In Memory." and "Take Me Back To Old Ohio." Griffith was also an inventor. He invented a portable knockdown baby bed, and was more proud of the baby bed than anything he did in baseball or on vaudeville.

"I'll change your shadows to sunshine" - Lyrics
By Thos. H. Griffith (lyricist) and Elmer B. Griffith (Music)

   If life, were only sunshine,
And you with me would stay
The time would pass so quickly
‘Twould seem just like a day

 If life were only gladness,
Though skies grow dark above
I’d ask you to be with me
So we could always love

If life, were sweet as music,
That music we could share
If love were pure as lilies
Twould seem like heaven fair

If you will say I’ll love you,
No matter where we roam
We’d make our life worth living
Then you would be my own

Chorus:
I’ll change your shadows to sunshine
Your life will be as a dream
No more the darkness will enter
Into your heart my sunbeam
Your life to me seems so dark dear
For it Ill try hard to cheer
If you will only believe me
I’ll change your life for you dear
