On Sunday,
August 19, 2018 the St. Louis Cardinals
handed out this Dizzy Dean
commemorative watch to the first 30,000 fans ages 16 and
older, that entered Busch Stadium. Presented By AT&T the watch is a
reproduction of a 1935, Dizzy Dean
wrist watch that was sold in department
and Jewelry stores for the price of
$2.95. The box that the AT&T-SGA came
in is also designed after the original
gift box for the Dizzy Dean watch.
Just like the original, the dial
features a "Dizzy" Dean illustrated
picture and facsimile autograph. The
back of the watch case has the AT&T
logo in the center, Cardinals at the
top, and the bottom reads "Made in
China, Stainless Steel, 3ATM Water
Resistant" 3 ATM means it is splash
resistant, Ok for rain, hand washing,
or occasional contact with water. The
watch has a red wristband. The wrist
watch sold in 1935 was available
with a leather strap or metal bracelet band.
