Each year from 1919 to 1931, with the
exception of 1928, the New York Giants
issued Sterling Silver passes to select
dignitaries and season ticket holders.
The passes manufactured by Lambert
Bros. of New York, were designed in a
variety of shapes and baseball motifs.
The charm or locket like medallions
entitles the bearer admission to every
New York Giants home game played at the
Polo Grounds during that particular
season.
This pass issued in 1923 was made with an engraved stitched baseball
design with “GIANTS” at the top, “WORLD
CHAMPIONS” centered on the sweet spot,
and “1921-1922 CHAS.H.STONEHAM PRES.”
at the bottom. The flat back of this
pass indicates that this was issued to
"Robt. Stein & one" (Robert Stein and
one guest) the top is engraved “148"
(section or seating) and "1923” (the
year of issue) below. The makers mark
at the bottom reads "LAMBERT BROS, NY,
STERLING." The top
of this pass has a hole which would fit
link to be attached to a cloth ribbon,
for handling.
