1936 World Series was played from
September 30th to October 6th, between
the American League Pennant winner New
York Yankees, and the National League
Pennant winner New York Giants.
The Yankees beat the Giants four games
to two in the best of seven
series. This was the first World Series
in which the New York Yankees played
without Babe Ruth, as he was released
by the Yankees after the 1934 season.
It was the first World Series for the
Yankees rookie Joe DiMaggio, who batted
.346, in 26 at bats.
