Piniella thanked his family, teammates, and Yankee Fans, after being showered with gifts.

Among the gifts were; a satellite dish two trips to Hawwii, one to Acapulco, Tokyo or Hong Kong, two cars, two miniature horses, a battered water cooler and a light fixture to represent the many times Piniella's temper got the best of him, two color televisions, a stereo, VCR, a lifetime pass to Burger King, a gold watch from Anheuser-Busch, Inc., a personally installed Coca-Cola dispenser, $500. worth of free gas, a sailboard, Krugerrands and a set of golf cubs.
