NOTES:

Dexterity games AKA skill games, palm puzzles and hand-held games, became popular around the mid 19th Century. The games reached their height of popularity from about 1920 to and through the 1950's. Formed in 1888, this National Base Ball Puzzle was produced by the Popular Games Company of New York.

The glass covered 3" diameter stamped lithograph illustrates green baseball diamond with 10 players, 2 umpires, and 2 coaches. The text wrapped around the pitchers mound reads "National Baseball Puzzle/Patent Applied For." Along the third baseline  reads "Popular Games Co. New York." The first base lines reads "The Trick - Hold 'Matty' (refers to Christie Mathewson) in box while Evers (refers to Johnny Evers of Cubs Infielders - Tinker to Evers to Chance fame) makes home run without running off diamond. Text along the lower outer rim reads "We Also Manufacture Inside Baseball Big League Games Played In Your Home/Close Scores, All Teams/Ask Dealer Or Us For Particulars."
