NOTES:

This Philadelphia Athletics Connie Mack tin baseball bank was manufactured by J. Chein & Company. Established in 1903 the American toy company was best known for their mechanical, stamped and lithographed tin toys produced from the 1930s through the 1950s. During the 1960s and 1970s, Chein produced licensed "Peanuts" characters. Sometime in the mid 1960s, the government began to regulate the toy industry, in particular, the dangers posed by the sharp edges of metal toys. Most U.S. tin toy manufacturers abandoned the material in favor of more easily compliant plastic. By 1979, tin toy manufacturing was phased out entirely.

The Atlantic Refinery Company gasoline station premium tin bank has a coin slot at the top and reads "Compliments Of Your Atlantic-Dealer" The front sweet spot reads "Philadelphia Athletics" and features a Connie Mack facsimile signature below. The bottom at the base reads "Save With Atlantic" The back features the image of A's White Elephant, with the "J. Chein & Co. Made In U.S.A." shied Logo.
