NOTES:

It's a Hit! Ball Bank glass baseball coin bank was sold in drug and discount stores for about .30¢ during the mid 1940s. Advertised as a novel and simple method for savings, the bank can be opened and used again. The clear glass ball with raised seams, sits on a plastic base. To open and remove the saved coins the slotted base is screwed off counter clockwise. These glass baseball banks gained popularity during the 1940s.

The glass banks included: the 1941 Mobilgas flying Pegasus logo banks, which reads "patent Applied For Heffelfinger Publications N.Y." The Clear Ball banks seem to have been made with the same mold, and might have been produced by the same company.  the 1943 Yankee Products Co. New York Yankees Lou Gehrig Bill Dickey, and St. Louis Cardinals, Yank Banks. By the mid to late 1950s plastic team autograph baseball banks became a popular savings bank premium.
