NOTES:

These Pegasus, Flying Red Horse glass baseball banks were made available at Mobilgas service stations in 1941. With a purchase of 5 gallons of gas or more, you could receive a free baseball bank. Some dealers charged .10¢ with a dollars worth of gas. The white glass baseball bank with blues raised seams, featured a red flying horse Mobilgas trademark logo opposite of one another. Some banks given away featured a red baseball team logo opposite of the Mobilgas red Pegasus.

Mobilgas baseball team banks included, the Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers, Cleveland Indians, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Boston Braves. The banks that do not feature the "Patent Applied For" can date to the the 1950s. The  glass ball sits on a plastic base. To open and remove the saved coins the slotted metal cap is screwed off counter clockwise, which releases the ball from the plastic base. The metal slot cap reads; Patent Applied For, Heffelfinger publications, N.Y."

These glass baseball banks gained popularity during the 1940s, and includes; the 1943 Yankee Products Co. New York Yankees Lou Gehrig Bill Dickey, and St. Louis Cardinals, Yank Banks. The Clear glass Ball banks sold in 1946 seems to have been made with the same mold as the Mobilgas banks. By the mid to late 1950s plastic team autograph baseball banks became a popular savings bank premium.
