The 12.75" x 20" game board or "Playing Field" has slots in the outfield, the "Pitchers end" to insert the score board. It also acts as a shield to prevent the batter from seeinng the pitch selection made by the pitcher. A wooden knob is used so the pitcher can select 1 of 4 pitches; Outside - Bad Pitch, Fast Ball - Good Pitch, Inside - Bad Pitch & Curve Ball - Good Pitch. There is also a wooden knob on the batters side in the "Batter Up" position, and then can select "No Swing" to the left, and "Swing" to the right. The playing field also has a window which reveals the results of play made by the pitcher and batter.

The game pieces or "Equipment" that comes in the equipment box consists of 8 wood "player pieces" used as runners, 4 red team, 4 blue team, and a pack of 48 cards that have a 1949 copyright. The cards are separated into three piles by the title on the green backed cards; 20 "Bases Empty," "20 Base Runners," 7 "Steal." and the top cover card. The front of the cards features instructions of play such as "long triple into left field corner" on the Base Runner cards, "Out to right field, on the Bases Empty cards, and "Safe on over throw base runner takes another base" on the steal cards. The black & white cards also picture offense and defensive baseball player.

Established in 1883, Parker Brothers, a toy and game manufacturer has published over 1,800 games including the iconic Monopoly board game. The Parker brothers baseball game originally sold in 1950 was re-boxed in 1959, and again in 1967. (pictures below)
