The Roger Maris Bat n' Ball set was manufactured by the
New York based, Transogram
Co. Inc., and hit the market in 1962.
With a 1961 copyright, Transogram
produced a number of Roger Maris bat
and ball sets, such as the; Home Run
Trainer, a Batn' Ball set that came
with a 30" bat, a softball, baseball &
Zipee ball, and this 24" bat and ball
set. The safe all plastic Unbreakable
Polyethylene bat and ball is "Perfect
For Limited Play Areas" The green and
black manufacturers display card
features New York Yankees Right Fielder
Roger Maris in a batting stance.
From 1962-1969 Transogram produced
plastic Bat and Ball sets and Zipee balls
that featured the head shot
endorsements of star players of the day
such as;
Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle,
Roger Maris, Harmon Killebrew, Frank
Robinson, Dick Groat, Jim Gentile,
Ernie Banks, Rocky Calavito, and Tommy
Davis.
Playing off the popularity of the Wiffle
Ball Craze, Transogram also produced
Roger Maris Official Zipee Practice
Balls. Official Zipee Practice
Baseball No. 3143, and Official
Softball No. 3149.
Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays
Transogram Bat'N'Ball sets were
also produced.
