ADIRONDACK BAT DATING GUIDE |
|
Adirondack
- Rawlings Co. has used different center brands in
their history. The Logo samples pictured below are
dated to the years they appear in the Adirondack
catalogs. By matching the samples with the logo on your
bat you could approximately date to that era.
Variations in branding and model numbers could narrow
down the years, and will be added to the description
soon. |

1946-1950 Bat
Manufacturing Period |
The words "McLAUGHLIN-MILLARD,
INC. DOLGEVILLE NEW YORK" form a diamond-shaped
center label. "ADIRONDACK" is centered inside
the diamond, with "NORTHERN" above it and
"WHITE ASH" below it. "NO. appears under
"DOLGEVILLE" with the model number appearing under "NEW
YORK."
The words "Flexible
Whip Action" appear right of the center label. |
|
|
There are two versions of barrel
labeling. The first has "PERSONAL" above the player's name and
"MODEL" below it. The other version has no words above or below
the player's block-letter name. |

the right of center label, ADIRONDACK (MUCH
THINNER LETTERS THAN 1946-1950)model # moved
into center labeling.
Among the center
label changes was a narrower font. "Northern
White Ash" appears in script entirely above
"ADIRONDACK" while the model number (302) appears below it. |
|
|
There were several barrel variations
during this era. It could say "PERSONAL" above the player's
name and "MODEL" below, as before. Or, it could have nothing
above the name and "LIGNINIZED" below. Or, it could say,
"PERSONAL MODEL" above the name and "LIGNINIZED" below. Finally,
