NOTES:

The Junior Sales Club of America was a greeting card company, founded in 1953, which promoted its products by motivating kids to sell boxed assortments of cards in exchange for money and prizes. Young entrepreneurs who sold enough cards could win exciting prizes, such as a Daisy Eagle Air Rifle, a record player, or even a Mickey Mantle baseball glove. Ads were commonly found in a number of comic books, and Boys' Life magazine.

There are four issues of Boys' Life Magazine in 1957 which have a JSCA - Junior Sales Club of America ad featuring Mickey Mantle. The first, a two page ad in the January issue featuring a comic strip at the top; "Mickey Mantle Goes To Bat For Billy Bikeless." Billy is in need of a bike, and Mickey Mantle tells him about the Junior Sales Club Of America, and weeks later... Billy has a new bike.

The one page ad (pictured above) from the February 1957 issue of Boys' Life, features a comic strip at the top; "Mickey Mantle Goes To Bat For Dick Butterfingers" Dick makes an error and needs a new glove, but doesn't have the money for one. Mantle advises him to earn one with the Junior Sales Club Of America. The April 1957 Boys' Life two page ad is identical too the January issue, but in yellow, and the comic strip; "Mickey Mantle Goes To Bat For The Unlucky Fishermen"

The June 1957 Boys' Life two page ad, feature coupons to enroll for a membership of the Junior Sales Club Of America, and get a free Baseball Handbook. The "1957 Baseball Handbook and Schedules" features: Major and Minor League schedules - Articles by Phil Rizzuto and Bob Considine - Don Larsen's perfect game - World Series Highlights - Basic Play Strategy - Baseball Quiz - 57 Outlook.
