NOTES:

The Ted Williams Baseball Action Ring was made available as a premium by Nabisco in 1948; by mailing in a coupon with .15 cents, and one box top from Nabisco Shredded Wheat. The ring is a gold-color metal with anti-tarnish finish, and has a plastic batter at the top. "It Really works....the batter swings with real World Series form!" A tab on the base allows the figure to swing the bat when the tab is turned. The side of the ring has a crossed bats and ball raised relief below the Ted Williams autograph.

The top of the ad reads "GET A TED WILLIAMS RING QUICK!" with "Boys" on the left & "Girls" on the right. The ad illustrates a boy with a bat & Glove, jumping with joy with the caption "GEE TED, IT S SWELL THE WAY THE BATTER SWATS THE BALL!" ted depicted to the right responds "NABISCO SHREDDED WHEAT HAS ONE OF MY RINGS FOR YOU TOO... BUT HURRY !" A box of Nabisco Shredded Wheat is pictured to the right of Ted followed by a green box with a description of the ring and how to get it. Below that is the coupon to send in for the ring. To the left is a comic strip "HIS NIBS" by Roland Coe, an influential cartoonist most famous for his cub scouts cartoons in The Saturday Evening post.

Towards the end of the year in 1948, a second ad appeared in the newspapers (pictured below) which at the top reads; "Hurry Kids! LAST CHANCE TO GET TED WILLIAMS' BASEBALL RING!" It is otherwise close to identical to the first ad but has a offer "Expires December 1, 1948" at the bottom of the coupon. More pictures and information on the 1948 Ted Williams Nabisco Baseball Action Ring can be found here.
