Yankees Bat Day 1998-2008 |
The Yankee Stadium bat Day promotion bats were sponsored by Emigrant Savings Bank from 1996-2000. There are two different logos used. One that reads "Emigrant" with "Savings Bank" below, and the Yankees Script logo to the right. The other reads "Emigrant.com" with the Yankees Top Hat Logo to the right. 1998 has not been confirmed yet, and it is unclear what years the Emigrant.com bats were issued. This information will be up-dated when it becomes available.
In 2001 Fleet picks up the sponsorship, and this would be the last year until the present day that the Yankee Bat Day bats do not have a player endorsement.
The Hillerich & Bradsby Co., Louisville Slugger, continue to manufacture the Yankee Stadium Bat Day baseball Bats. From 1981-2001 the bats did not include a player endorsement. This trend comes to an end in 2002 when the Yankees give away Replica P72 Derek Jeter baseball bats. From this point on when ever the Yankees give away a player endorsed bat it would be a single player for that year, and a replica of the model used by the player. In the past, 1965-1980, each year featured multiple players, and a Little League approved bat.
Another first for Yankee Stadium Bat Day bats occurs in 2008, the last year played in the "Old" Yankee Stadium. The Yankees issue a commemorative All-Star game for this give away as the All-Star Game was played at Yankee stadium that year. The bat features the 2008 Yankees MLB All-Star logo. The following year in 2009, the Yankees give away Inaugural season bats celebrating the opening of the "New" Yankee Stadium.
