This Adirondack Bats Inc. no. 181
Softball bat was produced during the
1958-1968 Bat
manufacturing period. It's basically
the same labeling as the 1951-1957 but with
lines added above and below to enhance
the "diamond" effect. "McLAUGHLIN-MILLARD,
INC." was replaced with, "ADIRONDACK
BATS, INC." The "REG. U. S. PAT. OFF."
was removed from above the center
brand. To the right of the center
label, the "Flexible" in "Flexible Whip
Action" was dropped in 1960.
The bulk of the value for a baseball bat relies on the player endorsement,
and will vary based on player demand.
In general, Softball bats do not carry
a player endorsement, and condition
becomes more important for value. The
box in which the bats came with could
double the value. One of the few
Softball bats with a player endorsement
is the Adirondack Eddie Feigner KING
AND HIS COURT softball bat.
