NOTES:

Established in 1943 Cambridge Sporting Goods Corp. was a sporting Goods wholesale distributor located in North Bergen NJ, with warehouses located in, Hillside NJ, Los Angeles, CA. Eugene, OR, Muncie IN, and Slidell, LA. They carried a full line of sporting goods made by the major manufactures but also carried a Cambridge line of sporting goods that were manufactured and privately branded for them by other companies. Their baseball gloves were imported from a Japanese manufacture. In 1961 Cambridge, along with the A.J. Hollander & co. Inc., and the Olympic sporting Goods Co. were prosecuted by the FTC because the gloves they were importing from Japan had the names of ballplayers that did not legally give endorsements to use their names.

Louisville Slugger manufactured the Cambridge branded baseball Bats. The private braded heat foil center brand features  the "Cambridge" old English logo dividing the words "CHAMPIONSHIP - SELECT WOOD" written in a circle, with the model number below the Cambridge logo. Some bats have the "Power Driver" logo to the right of the center brand. The Cambridge branded bats feature block letter endorsements of players that were under contract with Louisville Slugger. Models include: Safe Hit, Major, League, Big League, and Little League.

The Cambridge catalog also featured the Hillerich & Bradsby special Department Store  center brand bats with 4 Trapezoidal shapes. These bats were used for companies that placed large orders, and featured a catalog number unique to that companies catalog. Cambridge bats can be identified by model numbers that start with the "CA" prefix followed by a number. The catalog also features a rarely seen Hillerich & Bradsby Co. "Slugger II" trademark center brand baseball bats, which are advertised as a supplement to the 125 models. I don't believe the "Slugger II" baseball bats were exclusive to Cambridge Sporting Goods but, their catalogs are the only place I have ever seen them listed.
