NOTES:
 
   The E.C. Simmons American was the in store brand of the Simmons Hardware Company, a hardware manufacturer founded in 1871. The company was based in St. Louis with locations in six states. They became the largest hardware store in the world by 1910. Simmons was known for their trademark Keen Kutter products. In 1922 the firm was sold to Winchester Repeating Arms, and because of the great depression in 1934, Winchester filed for bankruptcy. The company reorganization, in 1935, and In 1940 Simmons assets was sold to Shapleigh Hardware Company. Shapleigh went out of business in 1959.

 The bats were made by Louisville Slugger and included models; No. 80 Major League, No. 38B Professional, No. 70 Pinch Hitter, No. 38 King of the Diamond, No. 37 Armature League, No. 35 Leader, No. 35J Junior League, No. 25 Home Run, Indoor bats No. 3 and No. 1. The No. 50 E.C. Simmons flagship line American Swatter baseball bats; included No. 50L - canary yellow finish no tape, No. 50H - molted burnt finish no tape, No. 50T - taped handle natural finish, No. 50B - full burnt finish no tape, and the No. 50R. The E.C. Simmons American baseball bat line also featured a decal on the barrel.
