NOTES:

From 1954 to 1959 Hillerich & Bradsby Co. issued the No. J2 Little League "It's a Louisville" line of decal baseball bats. A large size junior bat, made available in an ebony, and light brown finish. The bats came in four sizes from 29 inches to 32 inches. The barrel featured color decals with names and pictures of six ballplayers that included; George Kell, Ralph Kiner Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Mickey Mantle, and Jackie Robinson.

The 1954-1958 no. J2 decal bats can be dated by the labeling used, as pictured in the 1954 ad below. The labeling on the bat pictured above was used in 1959, a transition to the new label used in 1960. Hillerich & Bradsby also issued the J2 Little League bats from 1955-1959 without the decal, with a player lineup that varied slightly from year to year. The decals were made for Hillerich & Bradsby by Palm Fechteler & Co.
