NOTES:

The Hillerich & Bradsby Co. Big League No. 14 "Flame Treated Home Run Area" Baseball Bats were produce during the 1922-1938 standard bat label manufacturing period. This branding was used for lower grade and lower priced retail bats, until the "H&B" stranded branding was introduced in 1932. Exclusive to this Big League no. 14 model is the 'Flame Tempered, Home Run Area' barrel branding. Above and below are arrows pointing up and down to circles reading 'Home Run Spot.'

There was also another Hillerich & Bradsby Co., 'Big League' baseball bat with the 'Home Run Area' barrel branding produced with a center brand unique to this model only. The Big League Model F.T. Flame Tampered Home Run Area center brand features a diamond inside an oval, the same design used by the Louisville Mascot Big League Model F.T. produced by the Hilton Collins Company, of Louisville, KY. This suggests that the Hillerich & Bradsby Co., Big League model F.T. was produced by Hilton Collins. Not able to break the stronghold that Louisville slugger had on the market Hilton Collins closed in August of 1927.
