In 1906, Mizuno Brothers Ltd was
founded by Rihachi Mizuno and his
younger brother Rizo, in Osaka, Japan.
The shop sold Western sundries,
including baseballs, and then in 1907
began to sell order-made athletic wear.
In 1910 the shop moved to Umeda
Shinmichi and its name was changed to
Mizuno Shop. In 1913 the firm began to
manufacture baseballs and gloves. The
name of the company was changed to
Mizuno Co., Ltd, in 1941. The R.K.
Mizuno Sporting Goods Store was located
in Tokyo, Japan.
The Victory Cup logo was first used
around 1952. In 1958 the Victory Cup
became a Mizuno trademark. The
Illustrated drawing for the trademark
did not include any words, letters, or
numbers. In 1957 Mizuno developed an
injection-molded, compressed plastic
bat with the Victory Cup center brand.
Inside the Cup, reads "Victory" with
"P. Trade" to the left, and Mark" to
the right. At the top of the oval reads
"The Victory Cup Bat" Below "R.K.
Mizuno Co. LTD"
The R.K Mizuno Victory Bat pictured
above reads "HI-PAK NOVA" on the
barrel, with the model number "BT-30"
below, and "Pat. No. 249785" above. The
Mizuno patented “Hi-PAK NOVA” treatment
minimizes chipping and peeling,
increasing the life of the bat.
