In 1977, three ex ballplayers, Ed
Sprague, Dave Duncan, and George
Lazerique, invested $100,000 into their
corporation, Fan Art Novelties (F.A.N.)
corporation in Pleasanton California.
They designed plaques of different
sports teams, with the players
signatures etched into them. The fully
licensed "Limited First Edition, Official
Major League Baseball, Autographed
Collectors Plaque" was made for all 26
Major League teams.
The National League team plaques feature a baseball bat to the right of the
National League logo, with the team's
division. The Cincinnati Reds reads
"World Champs '75 '76," and includes
The Big Red Machine facsimile
autographs of Johnny Bench, Pete Rose,
Tom Seaver, Ken Griffey, Tony Perez and
Sparky Anderson.
The American League team plaques feature a ribbon extending from the
American League logo, with the team's
division. The New York Yankees Reads
"American League Champs '76" and
includes the facsimile autographs of
Thurman Munson, Reggie Jackson, Graig
Nettles, Ron Guidry, Mickey Rivers, Roy
White, Yogi Berra, and Billy Martin.
