NOTES:

Founded by George Sharp Lannom Jr. in 1912 as Lannom Manufacturing Company. A producer of leather horse collars and harnesses, Lannom developed a sporting goods line in order to utilize his tannery, after the coming of the automobile. Expanding the business in 1921 they added helmets, basketballs, baseballs and later softballs. Naming the line "Worth," Lannom created the slogan "Another Name for Value."

After operating under the Lannom Manufacturing Co. Inc of Tullahoma for 75 years, the company name was changed to Worth Inc. in 1987, to strengthen its corporate identity in the sporting equipment industry. The Worth Inc. operating divisions are Worth Bat Co, Worth Sports Co., Worth Ball Co., and Worth Accessories Co., as well as Lannom Tannery. In 2007, Worth was acquired by Jarden Corporation and is now a division of Rawlings and Jarden Team Sports.

The Worth Sports Company, formally organized in 1975, entered the baseball bat market in 1970. Professional quality Worth baseball bats made their way to the 1975 College World Series. Worth supplied both aluminum and wood baseball bats for the NCAA for many years to come. This Worth No. 500, Tennessee Thumper, TEAMline College World Series baseball bat features a Pinson Style specifications identifier. The 1970-1985 Worth bat label manufacturing period center brand features a Registered Trademark ® inside the oval, found with pro grade baseball bats. The handle exhibits blue bat rack paint transfer.

The college playoffs have complied a remarkable track record for producing major league baseball players. Scouts for every major league team were always in attendance, to tap into the wealth of talent. Notable 1975 College World Series players out of 43 that made it to the major leagues  include; Chris Bando, Floyd Bannister, Ken Phelps, Ken Landreaux, Bob Welch, Rick Cerone, Terry Kennedy, Keith Moreland, and George Frazier.

The first College World Series was played in 1947, and the tournament has been played every year since, except 2020, which was canceled because of the Covid-19 pandemic. America's 41st President George H. W. Bush, played in the 1947 (and 1948) College World Series as did Jackie Jensen. Other noted MLB players include:
