Mickey Mantle Game Used 1962 All-Star Game Bat
Mickey Mantle Game Used 1962 All-Star Game Bat

  • CIRCA - 1965
  • MANUFACTURER - Hillerich & Bradsby
  • SIZE - 35" 32 ounces
  • PRICE GUIDE - $15,000.00-$20,000.00

NOTES:

Mickey Mantle Hillerich & Bradsby, Louisville Slugger Game used bat from the 1962 All-Star Game played at Washington's JFK Stadium on July 10. This H&B professional model B220 features the “1962 ALL STAR GAME” and “WASHINGTON” branding on the barrel, separated by the Mickey Mantle endorsement. The bat also shows a scuff of green paint that matches the RFK Stadium bat rack, and a few ball marks. Gifted to the Washington Senators equipment manager, Fred Baxter, the bat was signed by Hall of Famers and American League teammates that includes: Roger Maris, Yogi Berra, Al Kaline, and Brooks Robinson.

The players that participated in the all-Star game were typically issued about two bats. Due to the extreme limited number of bats made for All-Star play the bats command a significant premium over bats issued during the regular season. In general Mickey Mantle Game used bats range in value from about $25,000.-$125,000. Value will vary based on on the strength of the provenance, game use shown on the bat, or and the season that the bat is attributed to. Post season and All-Star bats do carry a premium. A 1956 All Star Game bat sold for $430,200. in 2014, and a 1961 All-Star bat sold for $116,130. This bat is up for auction at Golden Auctions, ending 4/30/2016 you could bid on it using the following link:
