This large red, white & blue, stars
and stripes bunting was suspended in
Yankee Stadium during the 2004
post-season. The 2004 American League
Division Series against the Minnesota
Twins, and the historic 2004 American
League Championship Series against the
Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox became the
first, and only team in MLB history to
come back from a 3–0 deficit to win a
seven-game post-season series. The Red
Sox then went on to win their first
World Series title since 1918, hence
breaking "the curse of the Bambino."
The pleated bunting with grommet mounts, measures 110 inches wide, and
hangs 49 inches at the center, top to
bottom. The 2004 playoff bunting from
Yankee Stadium is authenticated by
Yankees-Steiner Collectibles, and has
matching holograms on both the LOA and
bunting. In 2005 Steiner partnered with
the New York Yankees to create
Yankees-Steiner Collectibles. As part
of the agreement, Steiner would have
license to market a wide range of
products, which included game-used
bases, bats, balls, player jerseys,
caps and lineup cards. This bunting was
one of the first pieces of mmemorabilia
marketed by Steiner.
