NOTES:

Circa Late 1940's, "The Scooper 204" Lou Gehrig Type Baseman's Mitt. The mitt was manufactured by The Buffalo Leather Company who produced baseball gloves for both the Belknap hardware and Manufacturing Co. and Arco sporting goods. Belknap, was a wholesale hardware supply co. established in 1840, and since 1890, their catalog included a line of sporting goods that included baseball gloves. The Sporting Goods were made by other manufacturers, that placed the Belknap name brand on the items

Made with Oil Treated, Genuine Cowhide, the block letter "LOU GEHRIG TYPE" Baseball Mitt features, vinyl covered cloth trim, and a Trapper style web. The Trap Webs first hit the market around the 1940's and became more popular into the 1950's. The Scooper F90 baseball Mitt is pictured below in a 1955 Belknap Hardware catalog ad along with with the D52-F21, which is a compatible model with this Lou Gehrig Type Mitt. Notice they call the Vinyl trim, "Leatherette Bound Edge" which is also called good marketing.
