NOTES:

This Joe Ferguson Spalding 42-7216 store model Catchers Mitt is dated to 1971-1976. Spalding started to use model numbers with the "42" prefix followed by four digits in 1971. The "Exclusive Manufacturer American National League Baseballs" patch, which Spalding used to promote the fact that, at that time, were the official suppliers of baseballs to the American and National leagues, dates the mitt to 1976, as Rawlings Replaced Spalding in 1977.

Spalding manufacture glove features include "CHROME TANNED TOP GRAIN LEATHER" and "EZ - FLEX RAWHIDE LACING NYLON STITCHING SWEETSPOT POCKET" Joe Ferguson was an "AVISORY STAFF" endorser. Spalding Advisory Staff Photos were issued from the 1950's through to the 1970's, as a promotional item distributed to stores that sold Spalding sporting goods to display. Some were also given away with the glove.
