NOTES:

In 1969 the James Beam Distilling Co., commemorated baseball's centennial, 1869-1969, with this Jim Beam Professional Baseball 100th Anniversary Decanter. Made by Regal China, the front of the decanter that holds the 100 month old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, depicts a batter running out of the box, above a baseball motif.  The back of the decanter features a "Professional Baseball's First 100 Years" yellow and white shield with a blue border.

The shied reads: "BASEBALL - The national pastime's first rules were written by Abner Doubleday in 1869 ... That Same year he laid out the first baseball diamond at Cooperstown, NY, home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. The Sport so grew in popularity that by 1869, the Cincinnati Red Stockings banded together to become the first paid professional baseball team. Since 1869 many new teams and leagues have formed to provide America with it's most popular professional sport."
