The M & M Boys assault on Babe Ruth's 1927 single-season home run record in 1961, sparked a marketing frenzy the following year in 1962. Mickey Mantle - Roger Maris products & merchandise included items such as; games, toys, T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, underwear, crew socks, baseball caps and Little League uniforms. Official Mantle and Maris insignia patches were produced and distributed to clothing manufactures for use on baseball caps, and baseball suits.

The 2 inch by 2 inch diamond shaped red & black on white embroidered insignia patch depicts two batters swinging bats on opposite sides of a baseball above the the word "OFFICIAL" between them. At the top of the red base paths border patch reads "MANTLE", and the bottom "MARIS." Larger official Mantle and Maris rectangular embroidered insignia patches that measure about 3" x 4" were also produced with a similar design that sell in todays collectors market for a little more. The bulk of these embroidered patches are unused factory overstock
