NOTES:

These 7/8 inch baseball buttons were made by Advertising Premium Sales St. Louis MO, for a Frito-Lay, Rold Gold Pretzels promotion. The free premium pin back buttons were inserted into bags of .39 cents Rold Gold Twist or sticks Pretzels. The back of the bags also featured an offer for a MacGeregor Regulation League baseball. The complete set consists of 21 pins. Ten pins were made for each of the existing National League teams and ten pins for the existing American League teams. An additional Oakland A's pin was made after the move from Kansas City.

Founded in 1962, Advertising Premium Sales company made 2.5 million pins for the Frito-Lay promotion. The pins feature the "ADV Premium Sales St. Louis MO" manufactures credit line along the rim. Official Team logos were used on the face of the buttons, as seen on the 1968 promotion poster below. The Philadelphia Phillies button was made in error, with the spelling "Philadelpia" and was not corrected.

Because the buttons do not have any indication that they were made for, and part of the Frito-Lay, Rold Gold Pretzels promotion, the pins are difficult to locate. I have yet to see the pins listed as being associated with "Rold Gold." The best way to locate the pins online is by doing a search for "ADV Premium Sales St. Louis MO pin" The 7/8 inch pins can then be matched up with the buttons pictured on the promotion below.

The pins made by ADV Premium Sales were also used for a 1967 Krey Meats promotion, a local business also located in St. Louis MO.
