In a 1987 promotion; Fuji offered participants
collecting "Bases," printed
on the inside of specially marked "Home
Run Game" packages of Fuji Film, a
chance to win a
trip to the 1987 World Series
and thousands of other prizes. Two
grand prizes, a trip to the 1987 World
Series, or $10,000 cash, 200 first
prizes, Fuji DL 150 35mm automatic
cameras, and 5,000 second prizes one
coupon for Free Fuji Film
This large 21 by 22 inch, hard cardboard
sign was the top part of 3 piece floor display
which shows mickey
Mantle with an illustrated Yankee
Stadium in the background. The top of
the sign
states “Mickey Mantle invites you to
play the FUJI Home Run Game." There was
also a special refund off up to $12.00.
by sending in Fuji symbols off the box,
by using a rebate form provided on the
left of the sign. Fuji, "The Official
Film Of Major League Baseball," would
send back the appropriate "Home Run
Game Refund" check.
Fuji Photo Film signed Mickey Mantle in 1987 which he represented the firm
at functions or conventions.
Wholesalers and suppliers would lineup,
often 20 deep at the Fuji booth to meet
Mickey Mantle, shake his hand, get an
autograph and have their picture taken
with him - on Fuji Film, of course -
against a full color backdrop of Yankee
Stadium. Mantle also did a
"Double Header" Free
Baseball promotion for Fuji
in 1987.
