The Benjamin Young Company was a
saddlery company that operated around
1897 to 1918 in Milwaukee Wisconsin. In
1916 the Perkins-Campbell company
purchased Benjamin Young but still
retained the name. Their 1916 wholesale
catalog included; Harnesses, horse
collars, riding saddles, horse clothing
saddlery hardware, leather novelties,
carriage and automobile robes, riding
equipment, and Sporting goods. There
are 20 pages of sporting goods which
includes 14 pages of baseball equipment
using the Benjamin Young brand name.
Young's line of baseball sporting
goods included baseball's,
baseball bats, fielder's gloves,
catchers and basemen's mitts, catchers masks,
accessories, and baseball bats. The
catalog also features 15 additional
pages of sporting goods; 3 pages boxing
gloves, striking balls. Tennis rackets,
4 pages Wrist, ankle supports, 4 pages
gym shoes, overgaiters and leggings, 2
pages volleyballs, basketballs, soccer
balls footballs rugby, 2 pages sports
body padding.
