Ralph S. Bell a survivor of Nazi
concentration camps, including
Auschwitz, immigrated to the U.S. after
WWII. In 1947 he met up with 2 other
survivors,
and they started up Trio Sporting Goods
in Chicago. The company also had a
business relationship with Hillcrest
Sporting Goods that operated from 1962
to 1981.

Subsidiary of A/L Sports. In 1972 The
Atlanta based firm, A-L Sports acquired
Trio Sporting Goods MFG Co. of Chicago.
In 1973, Trio Sporting Goods,
added to the line of multi-colored baseball gloves,
which were introduced in 1972.
Signature model baseball glove, player
endorsements includes; Joe DiMaggio,
Milt Papas, Frank Howard, Ed Kranpool,
Vada Pinson, Dean Chance, Ted
Abernathy, Bobby Murcer, Bud Harrelson,
Donn Clendenon, and Jerry Grote.
The catalog also feature signature endorsed baseballs of, Joe DiMaggio,
Ted Abernathy (practice ball), Bobby
Murcer, Frank Howard and Dean Chance.
Trio Hollander Baseball and Softball
bats made by Hillerich & Bradsby Co., makers
of Louisville KY. Trio added Louisville
Slugger Aluminum and Magnesium bats to
the catalog.
